Norma is now based in Nairn, yet also travelling extensively to give workshops, talks and sessions.
The Alexander Technique has played its part in the last seventeen years of her life. Initially, FM Alexander’s Technique enabled her to stay calm whilst studying a three year course to gain a Diploma in Home Economics specialising in Food and Nutrition. As a result of this course she was able to present evening/day courses in Food and Nutrition, and look after three children. The Alexander Technique gave her relief from severe neck pain, and changed her whole outlook on life. She then spent three years studying on a Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique course in St. Andrews, Fife, and qualified in 1995.
Additionally, she started to practice Yoga again and trained for a further three years to become a teacher, finding the two practices complementing each other. The Alexander Technique makes yoga much easier in every way; muscles lengthen more easily, co-ordinating mind and body, breathing and posture improve, enabling the body to move more freely throughout. Yoga principles are about aligning the spine and releasing energy blocks from the body on all levels. So Norma facilitates by using visualisation techniques to breath into the joints, spine and muscles towards effortless movements.
The emphasis being towards having a Healthy Spine aiding Well-being and Health.
She has brought Reiki into her life's purpose. Reiki assists towards promoting wholeness using the body's own ability to heal itself. Norma uses Reiki on others. Within the last year she has been able to give Rising Star Healing which is a very deep form of healing of trauma and deep rooted emotional issues within ourselves 'Live life to the fullest not just survive’
Although Nutrition is her background she has recently within the last two years studied the affects of Food Intolerances and how they can deplete us of our energy force.
So with the use of pH balancing and working individually with Food she is able to assist towards creating for you a healthy nutritional balance.
